Senator Gillibrand's visit was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how domestic cell manufacturing was the way forward in green energy production. Here's a look at some key highlights of her tour.
During her visit, the senator announced the Made in America Manufacturing Communities Act of 2022 alongside University President Harvey Stenger, C4V CEO Dr. Shailesh Upreti and Nobel Prize Laureate Prof. Stanley Whittingham. The Act Promotes Public-Provate Partnerships (like the C4V-Binghamton Partnership) with commercial and technical assistance to build domestic manufacturing capabilities. The bill will also be crucial in connecting academia with industry experts.
C4V CEO and iM3NY Chairman said, "We have taken charge of setting up North America’s first and true home grown Gigafactory right here in New York. Our commitment to clean energy is not going to stop here, we are super charged to announce that our teams are currently working on a 38GWh production target to be achieved in the next 8 years from the first 1GWh line we are opening up this summer. Our Cobalt and Nickel free high performance green batteries are now also available in our LiSER design package to compete with any other technology for the electric vehicle and renewable energy market. Team C4V and iM3NY expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Senator Gillibrand for visiting us today and motivating our teams for a cleaner and greener world. Her various initiatives, specifically Made in America Advanced Manufacturing, are going to set a solid foundation for us to get there faster."
